Cruz de Tejeda Gran Canaria is a well-known crossroads and meeting point for many local people. From here you can take a road to the north. The south. East and west of the Island Gran Canaria.
Because of its location, it is a popular stopover for anyone exploring the interior of Gran Canaria. The crossroads here lead to the North to the capital Las Palmas. South to the southern beaches such as Maspalomas. West to Artanara the highest town of Gran Canaria and east via the significant symbol of Roque Nublo.
Meetups at Cruz de Tejeda
Many local people and visitors use here as a point to meet up with friends. The Cruz is used a lot by bikers, hikers and daytrippers in cars.
Eat and drink at Cruz de Tejeda
In the town, you will also be able to have a coffee. A snack or a fine meal at one of the restaurants located here.
The Yolanda restaurant is a particular favourite of mine. The chocolate fondant is to die for and the Canarian dish Papas Arrugadas is among the best on the Island here.
Shopping Cruz de Tejeda
There are a few shops selling souvenirs and some local food and drinks. Rum is the favourite drink of Gran Canaria and you should be able to buy a bottle of the local rum here.
If you have time you can also get a ride on the donkey or get your picture taken with it for a small fee.
Walking in Cruz de Tejeda
If you fancy a walk in the amazing scenery of the centre of Gran Canaria then you will be spoilt for choice. This area is the starting and end point for some of Gran Canarias best walks. There is a small tourist office that can offer advice located near the tourist shops.
Check out the Parador de Cruz de Tejeda hotel
Right in the middle of the village is the 4-star Parador hotel. If you want to do things with a bit more style then you can wine and dine after enjoying one of the many walks. You can also just have a coffee and enjoy the views.
This part of Gran Canaria is really all about the view.
